Getting closer.....

I just took my regulator to the dive shop for servicing, and luckily it's just one exit down the freeway from where I work. There is so much to do between now and next Tuesday, that I get tired just thinking about it! I always try to avoid this "busy stuff" before a big trip, but it never fails.....there's ALWAYS extra stuff do to. Regulator servicing, trips to various stores, various appointments, along with Bible Study and Bunko on back-to-back nights, not enough time to get a hair appointment, an unexpected weekend trip to take Katie to my sister's because the neighbors aren't available to dog-sit, getting our other neighbor to cat-feed, and finding a ride to/from the airport. All this while working, and finding time to eat, sleep, and tan! It doesn't help that I was stuck at home working for 15 straight hours on Monday, or all the stuff we had to do last night would have already been taken care of. Trips can be stressful! That's why we like to take a whole week, not some puny 3-5 day trip, so we can R-E-L-A-X while we're away. WE.CANNOT.WAIT!!!! :-)

Grateful today for: this great trip to Belize to look forward to!!

Memorial Day

Wow, only 8 days until we leave for our vacation in Belize!!! It won't feel real though, until we step on that airplane! We are trying to decide what excursions to take, since my pre-paid dives got cancelled for lack of participation by others. What??? Belize is a world-class diving destination....how could you NOT take advantage of great diving prices?!?! Oh well, there's lots of diving and snorkeling to be had, and we ARE ones to take advantage!! :-)

Today is Memorial Day, and we all need to take time to thank our military for all that they do and sacrifice to give us our freedoms and keep this great nation safe. This day is for all those who serve, and for all who have fallen in the line of duty. THANK YOU!!!

Grateful today for: Our military, and the great US of A!!! :-)

Mother's Day Weekend

Even though I'm not really a mommy (only to our pets), we had a good Mother's Day weekend in Taylor. However, I forgot my camera!! On Saturday morning, we went to Wade's baseball game in Thrall, where his team won 12-6. Then we went to have lunch (BBQ - chicken, ribs, & sausage) at my Grandparents house in Taylor, and we hung out with: Jenny & Marcus, Wendy & her kids, Jerry & Tracie, Momma & Leonard, Grandma & Grandpa, and JD; and then later Laura, David, Sara & Wade joined us. We watched the Mavs get robbed by the "Thuggets" from Denver, then went back to our hotel. On Sunday, we went to Laura & David's in Thrall for another BBQ (ribs & brisket) for Mother's Day. In attendance were: Laura & David, Sara & Wade, Janice, Momma & Leonard, Grandma & Grandpa, and Jenny & Marcus. We watched 3 quarters of the Rockets beat-down of the Lakers, and hung out by the pool til it was time to head back to DFW.

Grateful today for: a chance to see extended famly on a special weekend.

The Weekend

1. Mavs lost game 1 to the Nuggets. Come on Mavs!!
2. It POURED up here in DFW all day Saturday, and all night too. A storm at 3am Sunday woke me up and had me listening for the tornado sirens.
3. In turn, the rain made me sleepy/tired, and Tim has a cold too. I was very lazy and did not work on scrapbooks, but I did read thru one of my crafty magazines looking for ideas for a college graduation card to make for Tim's niece, who's graduating May 9th from Oklahoma State. She is one smart kid!! (OK, "young lady", not "kid", since she's in her 20's now!).
4. I felt like all I did was watch TV (YAY for Law & Order SVU marathons!) and sleep all weekend (glad we don't have kids!) - I guess I needed the rest.
5. Grandpa thinks "his time has come", according to Aunt Tracie and Uncle Jerry. We're going to Taylor this weekend, so I hope he holds on until I get to see him, since I'm the oldest grandchild. I hate for someone I love to leave this world, without my chance to say goodbye. It has happened to me numerous times. So this coming weekend (Mother's Day) will be very hard on all of us.

Grateful today for: That I grew up knowing my grandparents, and that they didn't pass too soon.

May Day

Wow, can you believe it's already May 1st?!?! At least it's not raining today! There's also a slight possibility that we won't have to work on Memorial Day weekend afterall, and if not, then we might head to College Station for the "Hall Family Annual Memorial Day Fish Fry". :-)

Today (and this whole weekend) is National Scrapbook Day.....YAY!! I hope to spend most of this weekend working on my scrapbooks and other crafty projects. :-)

Round 2 of the NBA playoffs is about to start, and the Mavs take on the Nuggets this Sunday afternoon. LET'S GO MAVS!!! :-)

I need to download my pictures from my 4-day trip to Houston last week, which for me was the "good/bad weekend", and the "Friday night from Hell". I was upset that I did not get to attend the CKConvention and work my volunteer shift, due to "Friday night's fiasco". Oh well, there's another CKConvention in San Marcos in September that I may go to with my sister. At least there will be no "crazy drama" there, as she and I are BFF's!! :-)

Grateful today for: my love of scrapbooking and TRUE friends (u know who u are!)
