July 4th in Aggieland

The weekend of July 4th, I went to visit friends in College Station.....the 4 of us who used to work together at the Aggieland (Ramada) Bistro. Anne is a poker dealer at The Venetian in Las Vegas, and Kim and Laura still live in College Station. I am the "baby" of the group, and Anne & Kim are both living with cancer. We had a great time catching up, went to a July 4th party, then to watch fireworks in the small town of Kurten. It was so good to see everyone, and hopefully soon we'll get together to go visit Anne in Vegas! :-)

Missing Belize.....

Gees, summer's already halfway over!! Where does the time go?? Our trip to Belize in early June was greatly anticipated, and then it was over before we knew it. It was so beautiful and relaxing......I wish we were there right now! Although I didn't exercise (except for going on walks) and drank too many Pina Coladas (with the yummy Belizean rum), it was a great trip, which included diving and snorkeling with sting rays and nurse sharks. Who wouldn't want to do that everyday?!? Here's a few pictures of what I'm missing right now:

My new ride

Yes, I got a new car! One I've had my eye on for quite some time too (like 2-3 years). After much looking, researching, etc., we decided that what I originally wanted was the right car for me. So.....I got a dark blue Volvo C70, which is a hard-top convertible. I LOVE this car!! :-) Today is my second day to drive it to work, and it's a great drive/ride. I'm not used to the turbo engine yet, but it has the quick pickup I was looking for without being a V6. I haven't driven to/from work with the top down yet, since it's been so hot, but maybe today after work, on my way to the gym. Nice hair not necessary for the gym!! :-)
I'll post a better picture soon, but in the meantime, here's what it looks like in silver:
